First, I know it's not 100% sure that CoH is going away forever, but it's very likely. Nonetheless, this is how I've been feeling since I found out.

Second, I realize that my Rikti isn't anatomically correct, but that's because I find the canonical Rikti sort of annoying to draw. I realize they are more "alien" with mouth-less faces, but HOW THE HECK DO THEY TALK?! If the game were to make it so that they spoke telepathically to each other, that'd be fine, except not all Rikti seem to have telepathic abilities. And even then, they can speak to humans out loud, so they must be able to speak somehow.

Anyway, I could go on with that thought process, but basically I have been working on my own version of Rikti to draw. This happens to be my favorite character I've made. Techta is my main and one and only original character, but I made a character who is based on the Rikti, and she's become my favorite. In-game I used a male human body as my base, but I always used the Rikti Transformation toggle when I play. However the developed character that lives outside of the game is female, and I decided to draw her in this picture.

A little on her character is she was born naturally with two Rikti parents, and (as far as I know) Rikti are born looking human. Her parents were involved in some shady business regarding usurping the Lineage of War and defecting to the Traditionalists. Some how or another, her parents had to (or accidentally) left their newborn child on Earth. She was adopted by a human couple, and needless to say, when puberty hit and her transformation into a Rikti began, many awkward and angsty moments ensued. At a young age, in the later stages of her maturation, she was kidnapped by the Restructurists and trained for their army. She was brainwashed to an extent, but because of her latent psychic abilities, she was able to preserve some basic important memories in a hidden place in her mind. In my own canon, if a Rikti isn't identified as a psychic at an early age, those abilities are never developed or stable (kind of like the Force). In her case, her abilities are unstable, especially because she was raised in a human culture which doesn't teach that kind of restraint. Therefore the Restructurists shunted her into Chief Mesmerist specialist training (but with a solid base in Soldier training) in hopes to possibly "fix" her. Anyway, stuff happens, and she is captured during battle by the Vanguard. Her memory is returned to her and she remembers her family. She immediately joins the Vanguard and trains with them. As such, she ended up with basic combat training, Soldier training, some Mesmerist training, and Vanguard training. As such, she uses a Vanguard shield and a Chief Soldier sword.

Anyway, I decided to draw her in this picture because I liked the idea of a Rikti mourning the loss of Paragon City, whether it's because they love it or had hopes of destroying it, haha. In this character's case, the loss of Paragon City is nothing short of a tragedy.

I know I've been pretty devastated by this whole ordeal, but I hope, however it turns out, it'll be okay.
